When it comes to project management in TLM, students will learn how to manage localization projects using XTRF-type systems, use collaboration tools such as vendor portals and learn more about localization challenges and emerging trends. The use of actual systems such as XTRF, memoQ, or Memsource will provide “real-world” context to the course. Incoming first-year translation and TLM students who sign up for the course will experience the addition of XTRF this fall. The course runs from August 25 to December 12, 2014. Read More...

2014 will be a year of big changes here at XTRF. We’re starting with a newly designed logo, user-focused website, and flexible pricing plans tailored to our customers’ diverse needs. And more changes will be introduced in the coming months. Stay tuned!
New pricing for cloud options: Starter, Professional, Premium, and Corporate are four proposals for four different profiles of our users. "Depending on their size, companies have different needs and expectations about their 'perfectly matched' solution. At XTRF, we understand this perfectly, which is why we decided to introduce a new pricing plan so that our clients can select the one that perfectly suits their business structure and goals. And when the time comes, they can simply switch to the next plan without all that clutter connected to software fluctuation", says Andrzej Nedoma, co-founder and CEO of XTRF. Read More...

Systematic Project Management in Plunet 5.6: Defining Master and Sub-Projects
The latest Plunet version allows the creation of a structured hierarchy with translation master projects and associated sub-projects. Translation agencies and language services are often faced with the challenge of having to create hierarchical structures for specific projects. The methodologies used in the industry can now be comprehensively and clearly mapped in Plunet 5.6. An order can be created in Plunet as a master project with the option to add any number of sub-projects: possible sub-projects could be associated orders, requests, or quotes. But that’s not all: the newly introduced hierarchy option can be of particular interest for agencies or translation departments working to a budget. In the new version, budgets are no longer assigned to individual orders only – but to master projects and their associated sub-projects instead. The new functionality furthermore generates automated warning messages when budget limits are exceeded, offers clearly definable budget entry and editing rights, and a history log for more security and traceability.
