*** Developer Conference ***
As every year we invite you to our Developers Conference which will
take place from the 11th to 14th of September in Barcelona, Spain.
The ]po[ Developers conference is the only place you can receive
deeper insights on ]po[ technology and architecture right from the
engineers who created them. Bring your code and work one-to-one with
the core Developers of ]po[.
This years conference is preceded by a one-day Marketing & VAR
Conference on the 10th of September. If you are a service provider and
plan to add ]po[ to your Product Portfolio, this event will provide
you with valuable information about our product and our marketing
strategy.
You can find more information about this year's DevCon at:

*** Official Release Version 3.3 postponed ***
The final release is now expected in the first week of September.
A release candidate is available at sourceforge.net:
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project-open/project-open-VMware-3.3.2-1.zip
As an underlying OS this time we used CentOS which is a free, open-
source clone of RedHat Enterprise Linux with a life cycle of 7 years.
*** What's next? ***
In September work on Version 3.4 continues. This version contains a long
awaited interface overhaul with menus accessible from a dynamic
sidebar which ensures faster access to functions and objects.
The new version further integrates the powerful Workflow Engine and
will contain pre-configured workflows for absences, expenses etc.
Furthermore, we will offer an interface to OpenProj. OpenProj is an
open source project, intended as a complete desktop replacement for
Microsoft Project.
Integrated with ]po[, users benefit from the consolidation of a
desktop PM software with a solid, central Business Application that
supports operations and processes.
In the field of Translation Management, we recently initiated a
second Open Source Project: TinyTM. TinyTM aims to offer an alternative to
commercial TM technology. See http://tinytm.sourceforge.net/ for more
information.
Based on the results from some of our most recent customization and
consulting projects, we will also continue work on modules suited for
IT Departments. Basic ITSM functions such as a Ticket Manager and
CMDB will be available with the first beta versions of 3.4.
So far for now, thanks again to all who contributed to the success
of ]po[. This project wouldn't have been possible without
the support of a broad community of developers and users. The success
of ]project-open[ is therefore the success of many.
Best regards
