(Bonn, March 27, 2007) PASS Engineering is providing about 100 PASSOLO 6.0 licenses to support participants in the Localization Certification Program in Marseille and Chico.
From April 25 to 27, 2007 GALA (Globalization and Localization Association) and California State University in Chico will be hosting the European Summer School in Marseille. The curriculum for this intensive qualification workshop includes hands-on localization topics – and the participants can even take home 20 ATA credit points in addition to their new knowledge and experience.
“It’s extremely important to continue providing workshops like this one,” explains Florian Sachse, Managing Director and CTO of PASS Engineering. “More and more, localization is becoming an issue for medium sized companies. These companies have an increasing demand for well trained technical writers and programmers who are up to date on current industry trends and are able to respond quickly. We want to make a contribution here!”
In June, GALA and California State University will be offering the next workshop: from June 12 to 14, 2007 in Chico, California. PASS Engineering will also be contributing to the second workshop: “Our donation of licenses has a total value of about 170 thousand euros, but we are convinced that this is a good investment,” says Florian Sachse.
About PASS Engineering
The company with headquarters in Bonn, Germany, was founded in 1990 by Achim Herrmann and Florian Sachse. Initially PASS Engineering developed software solutions for medical systems; since the customers in this sector operate on a global scale, procedures were developed to enable professional software localization: PASSOLO was born. The newest version, PASSOLO 6.0, was released in May 2006 and was voted the most popular software localization tool in an international online voting.
PASSOLO can process a wide range of software file formats, including executable program files as well as resource files and XML. And since PASSOLO does not impact the program source code, localization can begin during the programming process. Thanks to the integrated translation memory technology, PASSOLO can make use of previous translations even if they were created using other software products. PASSOLO is compatible with all available Microsoft .NET development frameworks and is multi-user capable.
