On August 25, The Monterey Institute of International Studies will integrate XTRF – one of the leading ERP systems on the localization market – into the course Localization Project Management. This course is part of the Translation and Localization Management (TLM) program at MIIS. With the addition of XTRF, students will be on the cutting edge of learning how complex localization projects are managed. The course program targets students who are seeking to build the practical skills that are required on today’s localization market.
The TLM program was created to respond to the language industry’s growing demand for highly-skilled and professionally-trained localization employees. When it comes to project management in TLM, students will learn how to manage localization projects using XTRF-type systems, use collaboration tools such as vendor portals and learn more about localization challenges and emerging trends. The use of actual systems such as XTRF, memoQ, or Memsource will provide “real-world” context to the course. Incoming first-year translation and TLM students who sign up for the course will experience the addition of XTRF this fall. The course runs from August 25 to December 12, 2014. Read More...
